Benedict Hefford, Chief Executive

Benedict has 30 years experience in the UK and NZ public and private health and social care sectors in executive roles spanning procurement, commissioning, operations, turnaround and transformation. Prior to joining Care Group, he was Director of Strategy & Implementation at South Link Health and previously Executive Director, Primary & Community Care for seven years at Te Whatu Ora Counties Manukau. During the height of the COVID pandemic in 2020 he was Interim GM, Systems Strategy at the NZ Ministry of Health. Benedict holds an MSc from King’s College, University of London.

After commencing his career as a lawyer at Bell Gully, Steven moved into investment banking, working for Macquarie Bank in London and then in Auckland.

As well as Care Group, Steven holds directorships The NZ Automobile Association, Marlborough Lines Limited, and Yealands Wine.

Bruce Greenfield Director

Dr Bruce Greenfield is a founding shareholder & director of Care Group. He started Crawford Medical Centre in Howick in 1972 where he remains clinical director & CEO. His specialties include elderly care, minor surgery, & teaching.

Brett Hyland Director

Dr Brett Hyland is a founding shareholder & director of Care Group. He started medical practice in the 1980s and remains as clinical lead at My Health Team in Hyland Park.

As well as Care Group, he is Chair of East Health Trust PHO and a Director of East Health Services.

David Goer
Director

David’s executive career includes as GM for Fletcher Infrastructure & Brian Perry Civil, CEO Higgins Group Holdings Ltd,  CEO Excell Corporation, CEO Northland Dairy, CEO ENZA, GM AFFCO Beef and GM Fletcher Fishing. David holds directorships with a number of mid-large NZ firms & he is currently Chair of Argenta.
